Tracheostomy care nursing services

THECARE24 Services provide tracheostomy care staff for clients with new or recent tracheostomy to maintain patency of the tube and minimize the risk for infection (since the inhaled air by the client is no longer filtered by the upper airways).

The tracheostomy is a surgical procedure where an indwelling tube is placed into the trachea through the neck just below the larynx to create an artificial airway. The device is used to support the airway of clients who require long-term care. The nurses provide tracheostomy care to clients with new or recent tracheostomies in order to maintain patency of the tube and minimize infection risks (since the client’s inhaled air is no longer filtered by the upper airways). In the first few days after tracheostomy surgery, suction and cleaning may be required every hour to two hours. Depending on the client, tracheostomy care may only be needed once or twice a day after the initial inflammatory response subsides.

THECARE24 is providing Nursing Staff Services at home. Our Staff Are Well Trained.

CARING FOR YOUR TRACHEOSTOMY:-
  • Tracheostomy tubes should be suctioned. By doing this, you will be able to breathe easier since secretions will be cleared from your airways.
  • Ensure that the suction catheter is clean. Infections can be prevented this way.
  • It is necessary to replace the inner cannula
  • Take care of your respiratory system by moisturizing it.
  • Make sure the skin around your tracheostomy is clean
